Eywa's departure - from Ash's first vidlog:

    "It was unlike anything you had ever seen, unlike anything you had ever felt.  As the light, the spirit of Eywa passed through you...you felt such bliss and compassion.  But you also felt Eywa's fear.  It was terrifying, and so, so sobering.  You never felt so high, but you never felt so small.

     "It's been three days.  The lights have not come back to the forest.  For the first time the forests are dark...  Pandora is falling apart.  The Na'vi cannot connect to the plants or the trees of the forest; they are lost, searching for Eywa where they cannot find Her.  The Pandora we live on now makes the one before this happened seem like a playful kitten.  We're all in a heap of trouble, and it's about to get worse..."

The Story Thus Far:

Three days after Vrrtep's release, Ash and Rick manage, separately, to escape Hell's Gate.  Ash takes refuge in the Hometree of the Tompa'tanhi Clan, from whom Carbonell's wife Mey learned Na'vi lore; Rick holes up in a habmod ("shack") at an abandoned science station.  They find each other, and Ash tells him about Carbonell and Vrrtep.  Over the next few days, Rick steals a Samson from Hell's Gate; Ash finds a crated-up link unit in the shack; and together they rescue Ash's Avatar.

But the RDA is doing everything it can to provoke the Na'vi into attacking Hell's Gate.  They offer several Na'vi up to Vrrtep, bringing a red vortex that "Changes" them into mindless, venomous, dark-skinned killers.  Three attack the shack; one poisons Rick.  But another, Ni'ka, is taken alive.  She awakens not knowing who she is.  Rick is Changed...but, because he is human and the venom is meant for Na'vi, it affects him differently: among other physical changes, he can now breathe Pandoran air.  He and Ash resolve to help Ni'ka fight off the Red.  Brought together by this and by Rick's crisis, they realise that they're in love.

Next Carbonell's men kidnap the Olo'eyktans of several Clans; Rick and Ash rescue them.  The Clans debate whether to retaliate.  They decide to bide their time so that the RDA won't have an excuse to make open war on them.

Within a week, Pandora is growing noticeably cooler.  Rick, in the pilfered Samson and with the help of an anti-RDA commando squad, shoots down Carbonell's Dragon gunship, capturing Carbonell...or so he thinks.  He and Ash learn that the real Carbonell was against the plan to "kill" Pandora and was replaced by an android.  His fate is unknown.

The Clans' Tsahiks try to prepare Ash spiritually to fight for Pandora's soul.  After her first session with them, 'Iheyu, a healer, flies her to Hometree to meet Enya, an Avatar with her own soul, whose driver died suddenly while they were in link.  Together, Ash and 'Iheyu petition the Olo'eyktan to let Enya stay at Hometree, as she is only a young child mentally and needs the protection of the Clan.

In that same meeting, Ash tells the Olo'eyktan what she knows about Carbonell, Vrrtep, the Changed Na'vi...and the blood-red crystal fragments she recovered from the Carbonell 'droid.  Rick brings Ni'ka to Hometree shortly afterwards in the hope that, now that she is free from the Red, the Clan can help her to become fully Na'vi again.

The Olo'eyktan summons Ash, Rick, 'Iheyu and Ni'ka to a *very* private meeting where he shares the legend of Vrrtep's origins and banishment.  He tells them that what is left of its heart--a group of blood-red crystals--is in the most sacred of all sacred sites: the Heart of Eywa.  This site, known up to now only by Tsahiks and Olo'eyktans, is the closest thing the All-Mother has to a physical presence on Pandora.  All Her other manifestations, such as the neural network and the Sacred Trees, are powered by the energies emanating from Her Heart.  The Vrrtep crystals were locked away there eons ago after Eywa's first battle with the demon.  But the RDA somehow found Eywa's Heart and took the crystals, then used them to release Vrrtep.  To make things right again, Rick and Ash must go to the Heart and seek guidance from its ancient guardian--Na'vie, who gave her name to the People.

The summary above covers the first ten days of game-time. Significant events since then:

- Day 11: Rick and Ash meet Tangek and Tiye, rescue Tsanten (another Changed Na'vi), and set out for the Heart of Eywa.
- Day 12: Rick and Ash reach Eywa's Heart; Tsanten is brought to Hometree.
- Day 13: Frost on the ground; Rick and Ash airlift blankets and warm clothing to Hometree.
- Day 14: The Red Mist appears; Enya experiences her first Tsaheylu; Ni'ka is accepted into the Clan; Rick and Ash hear rumors of a plan to attack Hometree.
- Day 15: Rick evacuates Enya's family to the shack; he and Ash sneak into Hell's Gate and steal the Vrrtep crystals.
- Day 16: Rick and Ash take the crystals to Na'vie, who makes a prophecy.
- Day 17: Enya "dreamwalks" and meets Na'vie; Brenda comes to the shack.
- Day 18: Enya's mountain adventure; Ash makes a terrifying discovery.
- Day 19: Ice appears; Brenda's Avatar is attacked and Changed.
- Day 20: Discord in the compound; Eywa manifests; Brenda sends a message to Earth.
- Day 21: Rick moves Brenda's shack; Ash is still being influenced by the shard; should Enya's family move back to Hometree?; Ash will return to the Heart with the Tsahiks.
- Day 22 (in progress): Brenda and Ni'ka meet the hunter Atreyu and his refugees; Rick and Enya rescue Ni'tingal's egg; Ash leaves on her pilgrimage.
